Nevada County Consolidated Fire District Citizens Oversight Committee

The Citizens Oversight Committee was established by the NCCFD Resolution 13-08 on June 27, 2013 as a result of voters approving a special tax measure on March 15, 2012. The special tax measure provided for the establishment of a citizens oversight committee to review and report on the expenditure of the special tax revenues received by the District. Additionally, the Committee will review and report to the NCCFD Board with any recommendations it has with regard to the District’s preliminary and final budgets. Appointments to the Committee are made by the NCCFD Board of Directors and appointees must be residents of the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District. The Citizens Oversight Committee meets 4-5 times annually. Meetings are usually held in the spring and early summer in conjunction with the development of the fiscal year budget and then again in the fall to review the fiscal year financial reports and the annual audit. Questions about the Citizens Oversight Committee can be directed to Citizens Oversight Committee Chairman Chris DeSena at (530)277-4744.
