INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District in conjunction with The City of Grass Valley Fire Department and City of Nevada City Fire Department proudly continue the entry level training program for Interns. This program continues to consist of Firefighter Academy students wishing to gain hands on firefighter experience. Interns are selected from an applicant pool twice each year and are stationed at JOA fire stations assigned to one of our three shifts and work the same 48 hours on/96 hours off schedual as our crews work! They get the valuable experience of being the third person on an engine or truck company.
